ABSTRACT

This section focuses on how a subject interprets nomination as an assignment to a gender by helping to establish different spatial situations of the body experienced by the subject. It explores how a subject experiences being a body or having a body in relation to a perception of the other sex. It also considers clinical phenomena, such as anxiety, and discusses how metaphor helps a subject to generate meaning and signification with regard to variable experiences of body. This section also considers how desire emerges for the subject.
