ABSTRACT
This section establishes that there are two types of unconscious repetition linked to jouissance. The differentiation between repetitions goes deeper into the connections between sex and gender, showing how a psychoanalytical approach to sexual identifications is not based on ideologies. It explores how philosophies of sex and gender critique the psychoanalytic concept of the phallus and offers an alternative interpretation of terms such as lesbian and heteros.
