ABSTRACT
This section returns to the link between nomination and castration. It emphasizes how psychoanalysis shows how ‘woman’ and ideas of feminine sexuality go beyond the biological body and sociological ideas. It demonstrates how a psychoanalytical approach to gender is an alternative to both sociological norms and experiences of oppression. This section also emphasizes psychoanalytic definitions of knowledge and highlights how such definitions cannot be reduced to objectivity.
