ABSTRACT

As has already been highlighted in Chapters 1 and 2, technology remains one of the greatest game changers within the world of sport. Technology advances, especially during the last decade, mean many issues that presented significant and often complex challenges can now be overcome or dealt with more quickly and efficiently. For example, injuries can be diagnosed and treated faster, fans can be engaged with live at sport events using various digital platforms - whether or not they are physically present at the event - and social media, online videos and digitally available statistics can provide a constant source of information to interested parties to help satisfy the human appetite for sport consumption.
