ABSTRACT

The Assessment Framework has been designed to assess the readiness of Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) for Digital Transformation (DT) efforts. The framework consists of the three principal requirements of digital transformation: Digital Health Platforms, IT systems, and Work Transformation methods which include leadership and project management requirements. The DT Steering Committee (DTSC) should review the DT design principles and the categories, subcategories, and objectives in the Assessment Framework. Once the Framework has been understood, the DTSC can initiate the process of customizing the Framework to HCO business objectives and digital health strategy. The Assessment Framework comprises categories, subcategories, and objectives. Each category in the Framework comprises subcategories which are described briefly including their relationship to digital transformation. Well-designed and implemented PI projects transform the HCO culture to effectively transition through process changes and disruptions. Therefore, HCO work transformation efforts should be evolutionary – conducted with increasing levels of complexity.
