ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces Digital Healthcare Platform (DHP) configurations for telehealth systems and complementary platforms that enable digital care models. Each DHP/telehealth configuration includes patient care scenarios to help Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) select most appropriate solution for their digital health requirements. The chapter discusses DHP configurations that can serve HCOs of different sizes, scope, and complexity. Vendor-developed telehealth platforms are configured in variety of ways to accommodate a broad range of care models – from providers who want to extend virtual primary care for their patients to HCOs that intend to digitally transform their care models using a variety of DHPs. HCOs should remember that well-configured and well-managed DHPs continue to offer innovative APIs to increase value for participating HCOs. Telehealth configuration can support a variety of telehealth solutions depending on their service offerings. The goal of modern supply chain management platforms is to transition from standard marketplaces to innovation platforms that support HCOs through risk management, and productivity enhancement tools.
