ABSTRACT
We at the WMO extremes project declare lightning records for only common types of lightning. But, for as much as we do know about lightning, there are many things about lightning that we have only recently discovered. There exist bizarre types of lightning that we can’t yet fully explain. Of course, we don’t have any official records of those ‘freaky’ lightning types in the WMO Archive of World Climate and Weather Extremes . . . yet. But maybe in the future?
