ABSTRACT

“Finding belonging,” and “being unique” are two of the fundamental struggles of adolescent development. If one’s need to belong is too strong, where will there be room to stand one’s own ground as a unique individual? If one’s uniqueness is something that is often criticized by others, how can one still find a way to appreciate and respect one’s own differences and unique qualities? Also, how can one allow trusted others to help one find and “own” what is unique about oneself? These are the kinds of complex and thorny issues the stories work to address in this last set of strategic stories.
