ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors share the process of making a doctoral research proposal to a university as a necessary condition for researchers who wish to undertake doctoral research. The explanatory principles are the unique constellation of relationally dynamic values that the individual uses to give meaning and purpose to their practice. These are clarified in the course of their emergence in practice. There are a number of changes in moving from a taught master’s to a doctoral research programme. The commitment of time is important. Because a living-educational-theory is based on practice, the course work for a master’s takes a minimum of a year and the dissertation can be completed within one year. All of the Living Educational Theory doctoral researchers we have worked with, have made a mistake when preparing their thesis for submission.
