ABSTRACT

The penultimate chapter lays out a roadmap of implementation steps to create the Delivery Organization. This is not particularly onerous and is more akin to reshaping the environment to promote collaborative project achievement. Nonetheless, some elements and practices are more beneficial than others and some require more effort. This discussion introduces the proposed 31 steps, most presented with examples, explanatory tables, specific advice, and appropriate cautions. The detail is logically grouped into core elements, required elements, risk management, accountability management, quality management, and resources management, which is the observed sequence of difficulty. This chapter concludes with a discussion on the need for project managers to possess business skills and recommends a list of 14 core topics to be included in business training.
