ABSTRACT

Through analyzing the practice of typical regions across China, this chapter examines different patterns of territorial comprehensive land consolidation and rehabilitation such as the territorial consolidation and rehabilitation units in Haidian District, Beijing, “land consolidation plus” in Shanghai suburb units, village reconstruction in Nanshan District, Shenzhen featuring a combination of “demolition and reconstruction plus local remediation”, “full-space territorial comprehensive consolidation and rehabilitation and ecological restoration plus” in Zhejiang Province, and “national participation in innovative investment and financing” in Chengdu City. Through the study of these cases, this chapter aims to refine the implementation paths to territorial comprehensive consolidation and rehabilitation in rapidly urbanized areas.
