ABSTRACT
This chapter shows how, over the years, the problems posed by the spread of cryptography have become unsolvable. Society’s dependence on Internet services requires the inviolability of information. At the same time, the need to fight crime pushes to weaken encryption. The compromise solution, client-side scanning, risks aggravating the situation.
