ABSTRACT
This chapter brings AI issues back to basics. It argues that it makes no sense to attribute an autonomous legal subjectivity to software and that this idea results from the confusion between reality and science fiction. Finally, it highlights the danger deriving from the use of ethics instead of the law as a regulatory approach.
