ABSTRACT
Al-Harith is employed to bring supplies of colour stone to a workshop producing decorative panels for the unfinished Taj Mahal in Agra. While they are in the workshop, Aisha opens a European printed book containing botanical illustrations. A discussion ensues in which the master of the workshop explains how these images are used and the differences between European and Islamic approaches to the depiction of the natural world.
