ABSTRACT
Aisha passes the Congregational Mosque of Djenné during a sandstorm and sees another person who is making notes on the structure. This person is Fatoumata Traoré, a descendant of the designer of the mosque. She is involved in the initiative to nominate the mosque as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They discuss the distinctive form of the buildings and the use of mud brick as a construction material.
