ABSTRACT

This book is just as much about integrative practices as it is stretching the imagination of the performer. The approaches have been implemented in teaching and rehearsal processes for student and professional productions and respond to the overall growing interest in the field of physiovocality. It is a document of creative works and exercises drawn from personal experiences, training, research, and trials accumulated over two decades. Recent academic and practical outputs and subjects included in degree programmes around the world are a testament to the need of content that address issues particularly related to physiovocality. Although there are scholarly publications that cover a range of physiovocal and cross-cultural discourse, there has been little attempt to bring together a publication that demonstrates the original practices by a contemporary Australian practice-based training and performance company.
