Introduction

This chapter introduces readers to the need to study nonverbal communication of broadcasters. It will address how the fields of journalism, crisis communication, professional norms, and nonverbal communication work together. It will explore the need for additional nonverbal neutrality scholarship and outline the rest of the book.
