ABSTRACT

This chapter analyses the survey data with concepts of social capital in order to reflect on the relationship characteristics repeatedly mentioned in the foregoing chapters and on social capital. As a compositional concept, the connotation of social capital evolves from the term “capital.” It should be mentioned that the demarcation within social capital theory between social credit and social capital makes it difficult for us to understand the relationship between them; the multi-level and multi-dimensional characteristics of social capital increase the complexity of the discussion. The accumulation and constant exchange of such individual social capital bring into existence the socialised network that constitutes the social capital for the entire society and that in turn becomes the institutional guarantee for social credit. It should be acknowledged that, theoretically, social capital and universal trust stand in a very close relationship.
