Conclusion sums up the major themes of the book and looks to the future. How will diversity evolve as minority groups become the majority over the next few decades? Can a concept of diversity even exist should pluralism continue its ascent? Will a different notion of diversity eventually eclipse the ones in play over the past century? These and other questions are addressed to point to the future of one of the most central and interesting parts of the American idea and experience.
