ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 focused on a way of raising and overcoming negative bias in individuals and groups. This chapter focuses on the next important stage, transferring to groups and teams the skill of meeting effectively and efficiently, to overcome barriers of disabling behaviours and limiting assumptions. The very first step in working with leaders who want to transform their company culture is the skill of managing meetings, to introduce the leadership to the practice and the power of giving attention, of embedding a listening culture. The significance lies in its influence on raising the emotional intelligence of an entire group, team, or organisation. It is the first step to dismantling the limitations of “either-or” thinking and accepting the possibility of Integral outcomes – “both-and” solutions.
