ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 brings together elements of this Integral approach from previous chapters to enlarge on the skills needed for leaders-as-coach, and the practices to acquire these skills. Neuroscience evidence on enhancing leadership behaviours is enlarged. The concepts and significance of horizontal and vertical learning are described and a brief background is given. Additional reflections on natural and dominator hierarchies enlarge on the significance of a range of levels (stages) in leadership development. The usefulness of working with a range of intelligences is introduced, focusing on six intelligences that aid expanded adult development. Practices in increasing awareness are provided, and a case study gives an example.
