ABSTRACT

This chapter helps in understanding the psychology of education and power in the context of the Indian educational system. Emphasis will be given to the new national educational policy to understand how it can bring social justice and transform education in a meaningful way by matching the imagination of students from diverse groups. An attempt will be made to show the crisis in the education system and how power relation thwarts or facilitates socio-cognitive justice. Here, it becomes important to understand how policies in the educational domain can be empowering and addressing to the psychology of change rather than becoming agents of the status quo.
