ABSTRACT
This chapter surveys some of the important connections between postcard cultures of the early twentieth century and the coterminous emergence of literary modernism in order to situate their cultural interanimation and shaping influences. It also offers a critical review of the postcard’s glaring absence in the critical history of media studies up to more recent explorations into media archaeology or forensics and interpretive readings of old new media.
