ABSTRACT
When – in one of the best-known and most fascinating stories in Greek mythology – Jason sets out on his search for the Golden Fleece, he chooses the best men to sail out on the Argus towards the land of Colchis: among the 50 heroes, the Argonauts, we find Hercules with his superhuman strength; the Dioscuri – Castor and Pollux, the Spartan warrior brothers; Orpheus. who could tame wild beasts; Theseus, who succeeded in escaping from the Minotaur's labyrinth.
