ABSTRACT

In “Fallen Flowers,” what does the young lady see in the petals? After a day of rain, with great difficulty it cleared, but it is already dusk. The lady's younger brothers have all gone to sleep. Outside the window, drizzle starts to flutter again. She sit at the table, and her heart is filled with unspeakable emptiness. Wen, Zhen, Lan. Ah! Lin and, again, Yi. Gradually, the sadness of separation drills into the lady's heart, it runs again to her fingertips, and it leaps again to the album. An unknown irritability suddenly encircles her. The lady cast aside the album and, two steps in one, she jump out the door. The flight of steps is piled up with various sizes of alternately pink and white petals. Depression once more fiercely gnaws the lady's heart. The sorrow of separation more tightly binds her depression.
