ABSTRACT

“First Meeting” describes a young lady’s anxieties arising from the much-anticipated return of a friend and the meeting of a new friend. The clock in mama’s room has already struck ten, but there is still no shadow of Jun and Fen, who promised to come. The lady am so anxious and eager! She push open the window; the racket from the window immediately rises. In sorrow, The lady quit the curtains, then recline on the sofa. She cannot help but call to mind the impression that Fen has given her in her letters over the past six months. The doorbell rings. The courtyard fills with the clear sharp laughter of young women. Two steps in one, the lady jump down the stairs. As she arrive at the door, they have already been greeted. She is reserved yet also delighted, she hold the hands of Jun and Fen, and they go upstairs.
