ABSTRACT
“Lingling” is a story about a young lady who has mixed feelings about the young men she befriends. It is said that Fei’s younger brother Jian is in love with Lingling, but Lingling herself is not aware of it. She just regards him as a younger brother, although he is a head taller than her and six months older. Lingling loves Fei; Fei wholeheartedly cherishes Lingling. Lingling has known Jian since summer two years ago. Lingling spent her summer vacation at Fei’s house and has since then come to know well the people of Fei’s family. To Lingling, Jian did not express it explicitly. Lingling just simply sees Jian as a child, and sometimes she feels that Jian is not much older than the youngest Luo. Floating hearts gradually settle into the life of school rules. Lingling forgot the summer vacation’s indulgent running and also forgot her merrymaking with Jian.
