ABSTRACT

Phase 2 within the SCIP programme is an innovative package of communication intervention. Phase 2 content is planned using an assessment to intervention mapping procedure and developed into an individualised set of actions. Intervention is dynamic and responsive to change within the child. In this chapter, the steps for planning and delivering Phase 2 Intervention are set out. Further guidance on how to deliver intervention is provided as well as examples of choosing and sequencing content. In conjunction with the current chapter, the practitioner should read the chapter on the Principles of SCIP Intervention that provides the background and rationale to intervention. Further guidance is given in this chapter on methods and expert practice within Phase 2.
