ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the procedure for assessment will be presented, from the initial meeting, through the gradual accumulation of knowledge about the child's context and needs across phases of intervention. Guidance about assessments relevant to the three SCIP Intervention components of SUSI, PRAG, and LP will be provided. Recording assessment findings and reported information on the SCIP Form will be illustrated. A unique method of mapping assessment findings to Phase 2 Sections to create an individualised plan for each child will be outlined. Guidance on how to solicit relevant outcomes is provided at the end of this chapter and specific examples of key instruments such as goal attainment scaling is discussed.
