ABSTRACT

There is a right-fit college for everyone who wishes to attend, but college may not be the pathway that all students wish to pursue, and that is fine. Many students find great reward and benefit from a school-to-career pathway. Various college research tools are available for students to complete a college list. Ideals and expectations among parents and students will vary.

It is important to assess students’ innate abilities to self-navigate independent living, handle time management, as well as assess internal drive and motivation to succeed when thinking about college. It is equally important to acknowledge a student’s level of maturity and literacy of all things “life” from all aspects: social, emotional, academic, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and financial, just to name a few. College is an investment from all angles: financial, time, family, self-pursuit, and development.
