ABSTRACT
As a school counselor, I have worked within two very different school systems—one that had a world language graduation requirement of two full years of the same language at the high school level; and the other district that did not have such a graduation requirement. Regardless of whether the credits and experience were tied to one fulfilling requirements and receiving a diploma, I would strongly encourage all students to take at least two full years concurrently of the same world language.
