ABSTRACT

Senioritis is real. It is not a virus but an affliction of procrastination and lack of work production impacting year-end grades and overall performance which may incur a negative impact on one’s college acceptance. Finish strong. Slacking and taking a nosedive in one’s academics can have negative consequences such as redshirting for student-athletes, first-semester academic probation for first-year students, loss of scholarship or other merit-based monies, or required summer school contingencies prior to fall enrollment. Yet some true grade slides may result in irreversible damage such as rescinded acceptance offers and full rejections off wait-lists, if applicable.

So stay engaged. Get sleep, show up for class on time, make smaller achievable goals, celebrate even small victories, and speak up and speak out with others about stressors and lack of motivation. The finish line is in sight.
