ABSTRACT

Kaizen is the driving force for developing people's knowledge by exploring and solving new problems, and in so doing, helps to accelerate the generation of innovations. Lean always includes kaizen. In manufacturing, kaizen means that everyone should continuously improve one's own daily work and performance, step by step, without the need to allocate costs. Kaizen seeks to establish a new level of performance, but this time in relation to the product. Therefore, it is about stimulating the creative thinking of each designer, and thus accelerating the continuous development of new knowledge needed to move the limits of design standards to extend the performance available to future products. Sustainability, even in a VUCA world, is ultimately nothing more than the consequence of this continuous development of all individuals. Abduction generates hypotheses; deduction makes predictions based on these hypotheses; induction eliminates hypotheses by testing via experiment the predictions generated by deduction.
