ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses talent management as a way to weather the increasing competition that now stretches around the globe. Winning over the best talent can be achieved by paying attention to applicants with a keenness to learn and a preparedness to meet the criteria of potential future leaders. What’s critical is to understand the preferences and values of younger generations. Those who grew up in rapidly modernizing places are more open to positive disruption, as it is seen as a path to real-life improvements. That makes Asia the go-to place to find young, flexible and tech-savvy talent. Equally important is a review of the future-orientation and qualification of senior leaders and HR teams, the ones in charge of securing a satisfying candidate journey and attracting a top workforce. It is for that reason that HR departments may wish to adjust and invest in future capacity building, including DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) programs and policies.
