ABSTRACT
In this chapter we discuss the importance of embedding assessment within lessons. The chapter includes some practical information such as the basic principles of assessment and different types of assessment. It also highlights some key challenges such as addressing misconceptions and closing gaps information. We explore the importance of reinforcing learning through questioning as well as self and peer assessment and discuss the part that constructive feedback plays within this process.
