ABSTRACT

Following on from the ethno-entrepreneurship suggested in the previous chapter, this virtual tour of Archi, a small but ethnically unique enclave in the mountains, both represents another possible way of generating income and provides the reader with a close-up picture of what it is to visit this beautiful country and experience its hospitality and customs. The topography, rivers, mountains, climate and natural history are described; the economy of the area, and the social and cultural life of the people are explored. The chapter includes a number of photographs of the local scenery and people at work and play, characterising the experiences on offer.
