ABSTRACT
Climate is key data, essential for intelligently designing and building a home. Hence the need to have, at least, a basic understanding of the climate in general and fairly good knowledge of what it implies in tropical regions in particular. But that is not enough, because we are basically guided by what is happening in the exact place where we plan to build our house. Of course, we will not be able to go into the details of what happens in each and every street, but we can adopt a common initial approach by briefly mentioning the elements to take into account in our immediate environment.
