ABSTRACT

Now that we have acquired a better understanding of what heat is, we have to ask ourselves what conditions have to be met to achieve good “thermal comfort”. Indeed, while our well-being may be largely based on the ambient air temperature, “thermal comfort” cannot be reduced to that. Other elements condition it, some fairly obvious, such as ventilation or the humidity of the air, others less so, such as the behaviour of the materials around us and even their colour.
