ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses additional nonroutine problems as well as some resources for educators intending to implement a curriculum of nonroutine problems. The chapter discusses five nonroutine problems that have been field-tested and fit in other chapters; however, I have only field-tested the five with an honors Geometry class or my AP Calculus class, and I do not believe that they would be appropriate for most teachers. However, if there are a few teachers interested I have included a summary of my experience with them and my recommendations for implementation. Also, the chapter includes additional information that might be useful to educators implementing a sequence of nonroutine problems in their professional context such as an outline of an introductory unit for the curriculum that prepares the students for instruction, as well as a few resources for additional problems.
