ABSTRACT

In this interlude, Kinet turns classical reasoning about indications for psychoanalytic treatment on its head. The question is not: who would profit from this kind of treatment, but how can we use the psychoanalytic repertoire so that the patient who comes to find us can get the benefit of getting better by means of the truth? The psychoanalytic is not a ‘lie’ therapy, but on the other hand, the truth is like oxygen: we cannot breathe it in its pure form.
