ABSTRACT

This conclusion will be an opportunity to revisit the main findings of this study. Answers will be provided to the three main questions. First, the socio-political configurations ensuring the necessary conditions for the emergence of the term radicalisation in the prevention policies will be presented. Second, the historical tensions running through the models, definitions, and conceptual operationalisation of the term radicalisation in social science will be explained. And, third, it will be underlined how the term radicalisation manages to become the central framework of a new field of expertise. The relevance of the findings and the potential limits will be highlighted during this discussion. Before concluding, the relevance of the concept of radicalisation will be addressed in the objective to open a broader discussion on the utilisation of this term in the future.
