ABSTRACT

A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. It is fitting that at this solemn moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity. Organizations and social groups that buoyed the RSS within and abroad are described as well. Vishva Hindu Parishad was spawned by RSS in 1964 as a cultural outfit to follow migrant Indians into America and UK and created a successful worldwide web of temples, supporters and devotees. Here too the RSS had the advantages of an early force abroad. Indeed, within the next ten years, the Chief Minister whose administration had been reprimanded by none other than the Supreme Court, was projected a prime ministerial candidate of the BJP.
