Data is one of the most essential and key aspects of any study. Data can be categorized into qualitative data and quantitative data. This chapter helps the readers tp learn data entry into an Excel sheet. In Excel, data can be imported from text file, web query, and comma-separated values files. This is very useful and saves time. Excel can also import data directly from the websites. This feature makes Excel user-friendly and can import any data from any website. The chapter also helps the readers to understand the sources of data – Datasets available in the public domain such as RBI, Census, MOSPI, Directorate of Statistics and Economics, NSE, BSE, World Bank, and UN data and how to download them into Excel. Census is the official count of the population of a country. The data collected in the census is of utmost importance in the assessment of the social, economic, and demographic conditions of a country.
