ABSTRACT

Charts (also known as graphs) provide us with the easiest method for visualization of data. The data needs to be summarized, processed, and presented to obtain information. Communicating information quickly is an essential purpose of drawing graphs. This chapter explores the charting features of Excel. It introduces the popular charts this software provides and learn how to plot them. Some popular charts are the line chart, column chart, pie chart, and scatter plot. The line graphs are appropriate when the values on both the axes are numerally ordered. The chapter helps the readers to understand plotting and interpreting the data using a histogram. A histogram is a bar graph that represents a frequency distribution. The nature of data demarcates the main difference between a bar graph and a histogram. The chapter also helps the readers to representing the data using a pie chart.
