ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter provides a summary of the key arguments of the book. It defines its three political interventions, in contravention to a depoliticized reading and theorization of a liberal “abundant” media culture, through a recognition of political conflicts and historical contexts, and lastly, in recognizing the re-staging and re-representing of past media scarce lives as inherently political acts in search of recognition and justice. The chapter summarizes the key concept scarcity in abundance through each of its main chapters. The chapter concludes with a discussion or parallel projects that might in conjunction with a media scarce politics demystify and challenge the demands of the contemporary media abundant world.
