ABSTRACT

What do you say when you observe a conflict between two middle school or high school students in your classroom? The student conflict scenarios in this chapter will range from smaller disagreements to students pushing, shoving, and hitting each other, to bullying, to actual physical fighting, and finally to a scenario where a student hits the teacher. If, or when, these student conflict scenarios happen, they can cause significant stress for you and your students. Hopefully, the Great Teacher Language examples in this chapter will offer guidance and understanding for you, your students, and parents during these potentially very stressful situations.
