ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 aims to introduce the quantitative analysis of metaphor use in corpora and to present some of the global results obtained from MetCLIL. I first deal with the most important studies approaching metaphor frequency and density in the literature. Then, I present some preliminary results of metaphor use in the different sections of the corpus by focusing on two kinds of variables: external or contextual and individual. The chapter finishes with a discussion of the most frequent metaphors found in the corpus.
