ABSTRACT

Maritime countries naturally adopt distinct strategies and policies in pursuit of their maritime interests. The United States and China, commonly seemed as two major powers in today’s international politics and maritime countries themselves, are showing an increasing amount of attention to the global maritime domains. This book aims to evaluate the development and implementation of the maritime strategies of the United States and China and delves into the U.S.-China maritime relationship within the global context, focusing on six key maritime regions: the South China Sea, the East China Sea, and the Yellow Sea in Northeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, the South Pacific Ocean, the Arctic region, and the Antarctic region. It provides a comprehensive exploration of these regions and their significance in shaping the dynamics between the two nations.
