ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on dynamics observed within Qurʾan translation scholarship and presents the results of a thematic analysis of a sub-corpus comprising all English-language articles on Qurʾan translation appearing in the Chapter 2 corpus. The chapter, first, sets out the scope of the sample and the motives behind the selection criteria, then introduces thematic analysis and describes how it will serve to explore the influence of Eurocentrism on the content of the corpus publications. Finally, the chapter presents the results of the analysis in the form of themes and subthemes identified within the sample publications, while reflecting on what these reveal about the dynamics of Eurocentrism in TS. Thematic patterns are, thus, described, especially with reference to the Eurocentric narratives, subjectivities and value judgements that might underlie them.
