ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the pre-response activities that include having a robust plan and ensuring the plan is exercised and trained for by staff so it is familiar. It explains what a plan is and what needs to be in a plan. The relationship and interactions between the airline and agencies involved in the response are described. The chapter also describes what an audit is and how learning from it can be incorporated into exercises. Finally, it offers an overview of activating the plan and roles as well as the order of communication.
